| About Birzebbugia: |
Birzebbugia is a small village at the west side of Marsaxlokk.
Birzebbugia is a quiet fishing port known for its sandy
beach and its number of summer residences. In the 14th
century Birzebbugia was not considered a Parish, and
made part of Gudja Parish, since then Birzebbugia’s
population has increased and it is now an Independent
village with local Parish. Birzebbugia has an important
history and archeological sites such as Ghar Dalam caves
that provide evidence of human action in Malta dating
back to the Neolithic period around 5000 B.C. Other
historical remains are the prehistoric temple of Borg
in-Nadur which dates back to the Bronze age. |
