We would recommend that you book accommodation at the Hotel Metropole early, especially if you are visiting Malta and Gozo during the peak season. This is because the hotel is normally fully booked for this period at least 2 months in advance. There is no harm in trying, if you have no option but to book your holiday at short notice, since there is always the possibility of a cancellation. Off-peak there is no advantage to a late booking, as the prices are already heavily discounted and cheap, so it is better to book a reasonable time before and make any other arrangements in your own time, without any rush. During the peak season, since demand is so high at the Hotel Metropole, any free rooms will quickly be taken, therefore again further last minute discounts are unlikely.
