Sliema - Diplomat Hotel
Summer or Winter, Sliema Front is very popular and trendy location, with it's unique seafront promenade stretching from St. Julian's to the yacht marina at Msida. The relatively few hotels and predominance of residential accommodation means that Sliema will never feel overly touristy, however pavement cafe's, restaurants and shops abound, frequented mainly by locals. The Howard Johnson Diplomat Hotel offers facilities for every modern convenience to the business and leisure traveler alike. The twin bedded oak-furnished rooms all have a side sea-view balcony and some have a front sea-view. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. Fitted carpets, orthopaedic mattresses, air-conditioning, direct-dial telephone, computer modem points, satellite television, radio, personal safe, trouser press and mini bar are all standard features.
Two Suites are also available on the eighth floor with a private terrace and panoramic views of Sliema.

Within walking distance, June - September, guests may avail themselves free of charge of the facilities at the Sliema Aquatic Sports Club, namely two pools, one of which is for the use of children, a rocky beach, sunbeds, umbrellas, towels and showers. The Sliema Aquatic Sports Club also offers (at a charge) diving, other water sports, bar and restaurant. There is also an excellent rock bathing beach right opposite the hotel. St. Julian's, the Dragonara Casino, Ice Skating Arena, Super Bowl, Imax Theatre and other entertainment centers are a 10 minute drive or bus ride away, on the main Valletta bus route running just outside the hotel.

The hotel's general facilities include a Rooftop swimming pool with whirlpool, sun terrace and pool bar overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The Lobby bar serves hot and cold light meals and snacks. The Pub open every evening till the early hours. The Penny Farthing Restaurant offers an extensive hot and cold buffet breakfast and a Buffet / Carvery Dinner. A Health Center and sauna, Games room, Conference rooms and a Business center are available. Three Guest Lifts are installed, and all outlets are fully air conditioned.
